i remember reading
this article back in january, and i just got the book off the hold shelf now. i'm looking forward to reading it. even though john bowe only edited this collection of works, i'm looking forward to seeing his perspective. he seems like an interesting guy, and love...well, is always an object of fascination, isn't it?
interested in the everyman, bowe has edited together a collection of first-person essays who ponder the question, influence, and labor of love in their lives.
“I don’t like experts and authorities, and I don’t like writing about
stuff in the normal way they consider news,” he said, explaining his
belief that “noncelebrities” and “nonexperts” do a far better job of
illuminating the human condition.
